How I miss the British press. grin
Class - I will print that out and put it up with my Daily Mirror front page that said "How can 59 million people be so dumb?"
You can rely on Prescott to say what others are thinking. This is almost as good as him smacking that smug, mulleted, egg throwing farmer a few years back.
John Prescott - superstar.

Anyone got the original?
Tony snow can shrug it off, but someone in the Bush administration should probably be making contingency plans for when Blair goes.

Whomever is elected by the Labour Party to replace Blair, as leader and, more critically, as PM is going to need the support of a majority of party members (not just MPs) and the party seems to be overwhelmingly hostile to Bush and opposed to the war in Iraq.

In fact, Prescott's reported remarks are really a classic piece of English understatement.

The next Labour PM may well have to remove British forces from Iraq and realign foreign policy away from the whitehouse. This will hardly affect the US in any practical way, but internationally, it will be symbolic - the primary ally switches sides...
Can't come soon enough Rob.

The "bag carrying" that Glenda Jackson refers to is a national disgrace.

I liked Blair when he was originally voted in but his resignation needs to come quickly, in order for the inevitable disengagement to begin, both militarily and politically.

How about a Prime Minister like the fictional one in "Love Actually" that isn't afraid of the USA?
Some of the american wives I'm acquainted with in Japan are really affronted by this.
I must take some copies home with me.

It's funny 'cos it's true.
