Welcome to the Ottawa Valley.

I came to Ottawa 43 years ago and live in the Brittania area directly across from you.

Can't be of much help with the pubs. But I know there are plenty on this side of the river. I believe many sell local beers and ales, not sure if real cider is served in any.

Fortunately in Ottawa, apart from the civil service french isn't required.
