I have already posted this into the private forums and received subscriber views on this subject, now opening it to the general public.
Britnet has been running for years...and years pretty much ad free. We've relied on subscribers and donations to keep running month and after month.
Britnet is certainly popular and is drawing the attention of advertisers who I've put off for now.
However, I think it is time to start rewarding some people who have helped get Britnet going and helped it get where it is, and keep it there. I may also have to pay someone to help approve links. Monster cannot do it all by herself and nobody else seems to care...I do however. It comes down to these options. Please read them and answer the poll.
1) Leave things as they are
This means scrape by by asking you lot to subscribe year after year.
2) Accept advertising still accept subscribers.
With this option, we'll keep the private forums and everyone gets ads.
3) Accept ads and subscribers but no ads for them.
We'll display ads only to people who don't subscribe (ie, pay to remove ads plus add private forums)
4) Accept advertising - remove private forums.
This means that there will be no more private forums and no more subscriptions.
5) Other (explain)
6) One of the above AND refund subscribers
As a big thank you for helping keep Britnet afloat, we may be in a position to repay the subscriptions.
This only affects the subscriber forums and no the "special interest" forums that have been setup.
In a few days I will post this in the public forums for feedback there.
