Thanks everyone for responding,

Well were approved. I received the letter in the mail today after last night having a dream that the INS asked us to leave. I am to take our passports (eldest child and mine)and to have them stamped it should take approximately a further 6 months for the official card. I'm so happy smile smile smile smile

It was about 4 weeks gap for me, in Portland, Oregon.
I went and had my fingerprints taken about 1 month ago and yesterday had a letter saying i have to go and have them retaken next month. Bit annoyed about that as the letter didn't explain why and it takes me an hour and a half to get to the office.

So far i have been given mixed messages from my attorney and immigration due to the recent changes in the process.

Hopefully this will be the last lot of fingerprints i have to have taken. smile

Do you mean four weeks upon fingerprints to greencard?

Thanks for responding.

Good luck with the second set of prints. I couldn't believe it when they said mine were to old

Yes - within four weeks of fingerprints, we went for interview (non-event) and I got the stamp in my passport which covers you until the green card actually comes in the mail. That took a further six weeks I think.

I am just wondering any ideas on time length now as to when from the time you were fingerprinted to the finsihed process of your application?

I had my fingerprints taken on 17th September 2001 and our AOS interview was on 26th November 2001. So that's a little over 2 months. However, I wasn't approved that day and had to wait another month for that. My green card still hadn't arrived in the mail so I took a trip to the INS for the I-551 passport stamp last week.
It all depends on your local office too I think.

You can find some timelines here:
