Coverage here is pretty decent. BBC 1 seem to be better than ITV who insist on going straight to commercial on half time and at the end of the game. Leonardo on BBC 1 is a good pundit. Commentators who utterly suck are Gareth Southgate and Mick "I'm shit" McCarthy. Ian Wright on BBC1 is hilarious because he's so unprofessional. I cannot believe he used to run a tv show. He says innapropriate things and last night did the most astonishing thing - he pissed himself laughing so hard at William Gallas missing the goal by Park of S.Korea that Desailly got cheesed off at him. Seriously - Wright was wetting himself laughing at him during the comments.

Actually the best thing are the Budweiser commercials which are very self-deprecating of American views of football. Basically they are 2 guys in a studio trying to commentate but they don't know football because they are Americans. Examples are 1 of them running into the studio with a piece of paper and saying

1st Guy - "Did you know there are other nations in the World Cup?"
2nd Guy - "What?"
1st Guy - "We're gonna have to learn all of these names....."

Better is one where one says "it was unbelievable...the ball hit him in the head and bounced in the air and hit another guy in the head! What are the chances of that happening!"

England look bad but not as bad as France. Spain and Argentina look amazing. Ghana impressed me alot. I fancied the Czech's until Ghana stuffed them. Ouch. I'm fairly unimpressed with Portugal, Ialy and Brazil despite them going through. The referees are doing well with dives (Arjen Robben booked for diving - nice) but the linesmen are doing pretty poorly. It's a good World Cup so far. I've only missed one match (Portugal - Angola). Players of the tournament so far are probably Essien, Xabi Alonso and Riquelme. Duffers have been Michael Owen, Ronaldo (ha ha) and most of the French team.
The biggest question I have is - Is Dick Cheney actually the Togo coach?

That answers so many questions
The contract dispute, about the money
Halliburton building their training facilities.......
Do you think in the pregame he give them the old 'going into battle' speech and actually thought he was sending them to their deaths?

The Togo failure must be down to the 'liberal referees'.....

They're the only team to wear bullet-proof shinguards in practices.
