Almost got everything packed and in storage, yes storage! due to a slight mis-calc on my part, as of 24th of this month, the wife, myself and the 6 month old daughter are officially homeless cry
We know where we want to be moving to, eastern PA, but our realtor is doing a bang up job of not showing us houses we'd want to squat in, let alone buy!
So far we've only seen two that we want, bid on and got blown away. First time buyers so we don't have the financial guns that others do when comes down to a pissing match!
So, we're moving into a marriot inn for a while roll ???
If anyone knows of a decent buy in the parkland or east penn school district upto about $270k let me know.
Don't mind a town house or a twin, as long as it's not a shoe box!

That will cost you a fortune moving into a hotel. Surely at this time of year there must be an alternative - holiday home, log cabin. What about a trailer park or something for the short term? It is summer time so there could easily be some holiday place that would be cheaper than a hotel.
What websites have you searched? Have you considered changing realtors for a better one. We used two realtors when we moved to long island and I know you are not supposed to do this but if we hadn't we wouldn't have learnt all we did or got the house we wanted. They were both good in their own way but one had obviously dealt with first time buyers in the US and those who have moved here so she really talked us through everything.
It's a shame you live so far away because my mother leaves on the 1st July and you could have their room while you sorted something out. PA is just a little far for work though, I bet.

If you are not happy with your agent, tell them to take a hike and get them to release you from any Buyer Agency Agreement you signed. Then don't sign any more, until you are putting in another offer and then only specify it for that property only.

Never signed the agreement, I'm not one for signing for stuff I don't see or get! I sent her an email saying that time is short and that I expected slightly better results, we'll see how she takes it Monday. I would have prefered to stay in NJ, but you can't buy a shed for the amount we have to play with.

Vapochilled, you can't be travelling that far away from where I live. We are exit 52 on the LIE (I think that is was it is anyway :roll: )

Nope, drug fixer! I go in and sort out the mess some of these"experts" get themselves into, before the FDA start knocking! You'd be alarmed at how some of these places operate!

Vapochilled, Shirley is way passed where we live. It must be about exit 64/65 and we are less than 10 minutes off exit 52 so a good resting point. Please, pop in for a beer anytime. And if you don't find anywhere to live and you are out this way a lot, there is a room big enough for you all with your own bathroom )
