Once more hollywood has stolen a great british classic ( the italian job is the last one that cames to mind ) and and remade it as if wanted remaking .
this movie is a cult classic and they redo it and put that meathead nicholas cage to star in it ..
i for one wont be seeing it .

The last paragraph of that article really sums up the problem with remaking this classic, especially setting it off the coast of Maine, USA.
As I recall, the British folklore played a massive part throughout the story, including the songs and chants. I doubt there is a US equivalent to that.
I actually thought they did pretty well with the Italian Job, I am a Huge fan of the original, Its my personal Number 1 Movie, and was prepared to hate the remake, but I ended up pleasantly surprised, probably because they didn't do a straight remake...
But I digress,
I remember watching the Original for the first time when I was about 12, scared the living cr*p out of me! Its a classic. But hey they can always do it better over here.. :roll:

Didn't we already have this discussion? Maybe that was some other board - A waste of bloody time, but that won't stop hollywood. They actually had the original cut of this movie in some hollywood producers closet before it was restored and released in the UK. Trouble is, you can't rent it over here! Bah! if they can't get that right whats gonna happen with Nick Cage or whoever they decide to cast in it.. read more at the IMDB.. its an ongoing cause of contention.
Haven't seen the Omen remake yet, can't say that i'm busting with enthusiasm for it though.
