This is from the small town where I live. I knew this young man. I first met him when he was no more than 3 years old. I remember Brett as a sweet mischievous young man. It is so heartbreaking for his family.

This morning as I drove through town towards the highway on my way to work it was amazing to see all the flags flying. This has really affected the whole community and it is so sad and such a waste of a young mans life

Very sad cel.

We had similar here last year, just before Thanksgiving when a young lad who grew up in my street was killed near Fallujah. He'd been round my house a few times and was always very respectful and a most impressive young man. I often wondered how he was getting on in the Marine Corps and figured he would end up in Iraq at some point.

They are building a memorial in the little park on our small housing estate that you can see from his parents' house. I think it will include a flag that is lit up at night too.
Any time a life is sacrificed in the name if freedom its sad ,but it must be even more so when it becomes personal knowing that soldier .

sorry to hear the news .
cry Cel, I'm so very sorry. It's a shock when it's so close to home.
Cel - I couldn't finish reading the story. How sad, he was so young.
