Anyone ever heard of this organization?
They are holding a meeting here in Ottawa under very high security.
Until recently I had never heard of them and the more I read the more sinister it becomes. They appear to have heavy duty influence on decision making for western leaders.

Keith, I have been reading about this group for several years. I once told hubby that I thought Stephen Harper would eventually be leader of the Conservatives, and probably the next PM, based on his attendance at one of the meetings quite some years ago. This was a few years back when I first came to Canada and had no idea about Canadian politics.
It is quite interesting to see 'who' is on the list of attendees and what happens with them afterwards, especially the ones who only go once or twice. Almost like they get their 'orders' and go off into the sunset to get on with it.
It will be interesting to see if any of the Canadian/Local press pick up more stories and actually publish them. Most meetings seem to come and go with NOTHING written about them.
Googling them gets 47,000+ hits. Lots and lots of conspiracy theories. I don't believe any group of people could be as smart and effective as the theorists would have us believe, it looks about as likely as the DaVinci Code.
A more likely explanation is here http//news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4290944.stm It says that they are good at spotting talent on the way up. We hear of the ones who go on to powerful jobs, but we don't know how many are featured, but don't go to the top.
On the other hand, I do love a good conspiracy theory. lol

Best those that think its all conspiracy theory get back to American Idol.........
Bilderberg Group
Build-A-Bear Group
Alex Jones was on a radio show called Coast To Coast last week, after he went with his team to Canada to film the Bilderberg group. He was detained by the canadian authorities for 15 hours and apparently gave him a rough time. Far be for me to advocate conspiracy theories and theorists but I dont think that the idea of secret societies and organisations made up of influential members of society with their own personal agendas isnt that much of a jump to make. One such organisation...... The Republican party comes to mind wink
