Myself being a UK citizen, my American girlfriend of 2 years has been studying in London for the last 6 months.

As her Visa comes to its conclusion we have been analysing the options of where it would initally be easiest to be. Can any Americans hint as to how complicated the process is of working in the UK? Having completed her degree, she specialises in Child Psychology

Ideally the US would be out our first choice, though I understand how difficult my options are with regards to employment having worked under the H2B visa for a year several years ago.

I have no doubt we will eventually settle in the US through marriage, though I'm opposed to resorting to marriage being the initial option to remain with each other.

Any tips would be most welcome!

Thanks,

Dave
You could ask your question on an American Expats in the UK board.

This one's pretty good

I think you should pick the country regardless of the ease or difficulty of all the beurocratic hassle. After it's all been done, then it's over with and you can enjoy the rest of your life in the country of your choice.
That's just my opinion.....which probably wasn't wanted.....so sorry. -)
