Just wondered how many of you are enjoying it and have no plans to return, at least in the near future?
me.

Me.

Love the sunshine, the perpetually open bars, muscle cars, Kansas City style barbeque, eating at IHOP at 4am, the massive amount of stuff worth watching on tv, cheap and cool furniture without having to go to fricking Ikea.
I do too . . . .but this little part of the world .....It has the coolest brits . . . .
Y tacos y burritos y carne asada y guacamole y huevos rancheros y pina horchata y...

The States is brilliant. How anyone can't love it I don't know. Maybe it's because I live in Vegas which has no real history to speak of and there are very few actual Vegas-born natives, nobody's actually from here so everyone's an immigrant. It's the whole Southwestern vibe, man.

I hear people complaining bitterly - waah, the tv sucks. This is easy to fix, just spend some cash on it. If you're watching NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX or WB for pleasure then you'll find pabulum. Me, I'm more of a Discovery and History International kind of guy. Waah - people here aren't like they are back home. Well, duh. I've made friends over here who are just as good as my Brit friends, but in a different way.

This country is completely fantastic and a great place to live. Just because y'all don't agree with the politicians doesn't mean y'all have to hate the Murrikans.

/y'all is also a fantastic word
//Y'all (sometimes spelled "ya'll"), a contraction of you all, is a second-person dual or plural pronoun in Southern American English, African-American Vernacular English, and Appalachian English. Most speakers who have y'all use it as the plural form of you, though a group of linguists in Texas have recently claimed that some Texans can use y'all as a singular. it is notable that in Standard English there is no single word to represent the second-person plural pronoun.

I don't hate Americans. I hate the people who rule Americans which mostly include the CEO's of large corporations who tell them what to buy and when and almost in what colour and they fall for it hook line and sinker. Politicians in the US only serve these people and not the US people as a whole.

I love Boulder CO for the fact that people don't necessarily do this (though they also might think that 9/11 was some sort of Government plot) roll If they don't then they make more money than I do (Boulder is apparently the US's 7th richest city.)

VegasRudeBoy... I really like your attitude! grin
I do...

I feel fortunate that the "can do/entrepreneurial" attitude that exists here fortunately rubbed off on me...

This is called Cost Plus in NV... you may find it under a different name.

I think the way the country is run, health care, social policy is complete and utter shite..but the country is beautiful and if you are fortunate enough (like what I am) to be working, insured and well paid then life is definitely good. Mind you if I didn't get 26 days off a year I would be ranting like a complete loon. Corporate america's policy towards vacation entitlement is completely disgusting and inhuman.

Like MMM and MacZ, living in the most beautiful part of the country, definitely helps.
