We gave into popular last minute requests from our 'kids' aged 19, 17 and 14! My husband got up early and attached 50 little eggs (in sandwich bags) to tall trees and bushes around the yard. I laughed till I cried watching the kids struggle to retrieve them, and wrestle each other for them. What a sport! Now, bruised and battered, but full of chocolate, they agree it's their favourite holiday!

Did you, or the kids, participate in this sport? mrgreen
My kids (4, almost 3 and 16 months) had their first easter egg hunt today in their nanna's back garden. She put about 50 little chocolate eggs wrapped in shiny wrappers on tree branches, in bike baskets, in plant pots...etc etc, and gave them their own bowls to go out and fill up. They had a blast. I don't think I have ever seen them so excited before. The baby was climbing more than I thought she knew how to. roll

They have belly fulls of chocolate and t-shirts on with brown stains all over them. I think I can say it will be the first of many easter egg hunts in nannas back garden. It was great watching them.
My kids and their cousins (all boys) are scoffing the candy as I write. Far too much of course. I now have to go and pick up the trillion plastic egg shells they left all over the place! while they wrestle in the front room. Utter chaos!!!!help!!!
Nope. We went to the beach and swam. mrgreen We went on a dead-sea-creature hunt, does that count?

Lucky cow. wink

Weather here, cold, grey, really bloody rainy, and where are you, with your brood of lively littl 'uns, sunny Florida, the world's going to hell in a hand basket, whatever one of those is.

Not that I'm jealous or anything roll
No I didn't and gave the kid $20 instead. This is the first year I haven't done it.

But I did stock up and buy 10 packs of cadbury creme eggs yesterday in the last of three stores I looked for them in.

Americans like us obviously love them better than the desperate crap that passes for chocolate over here.

Seriously, I worked last night and some kind person had left some sort of "easter basket" for the nurses. At 3am I overlooked any sort of preconception I had over US candy and ate one small chocolate egg that had the marvellous taste of chocolate and sick. Undeterred, I went for a boiled sweet in the shape of a love heart and it tasted of cinnamon and sick. When will I ever learn?
I paced up and down Target looking for Cadburys mini eggs. There the only little ones i'll buy.I knew they were in there somewhere, and yes there were two bags left hiding behind a hundred boxes of peeps!!!
I didn't get any dove truffle eggs this year, they're another favorite!
My mum gave me a Flake easter egg which was absolutely yummy (from Tescos I think) and she gave Mr Snuggles a chunky Kit Kat one which he ate in about 2 seconds flat. The kids got milk button and smartie ones from her. I forgot how good the chocolate is over here in sunny UK. smile Mmmmmmmmm.... I might put that diet off for another week or so until I get to eat everything I missed over the past 9 years.
Yes, we did one for Lucy...she does share all her choccie though so that's good!

We also made Pace Eggs and rolled them down the hill at the back of the house.
