Greetings all,

Britnet is very close to having 1700 links in the database and it appears there are a few problems that I'd like to address.

First of all, there are very few comments posted about the links in the database. This is for everyone, please spend a few minutes a day checking out one or two sites and leave a rating and a comment. This will help me decide if certain sites need to be weeded out.

Secondly, and most importantly, there are some problems with the descirptions of certain websites

On this link you'll find three things

1) There are links that have no description at all. The website needs to be visited and have a description entered

2) HTML and other uglyness. Links should not contain HTML, so on the above page "Equipment" is certainly not right.

3) There are some sites that just say "Offical website". I'd like these expanded. For cricket clubs, maybe not, or maybe "Official website of ..... Cricket Club". For others, what you may find there. For example, Tim Henman just says "Tim's Official Site". It should contain something like "News, gallary and even tennis tips from Tim".

This is a long term, on-going project which requires a certain amount of commitment and dedication. Maybe you're a stay-at-home mother, retired or just get bored at work. Please send me a private message letting me know that you're interested and how much time you'll be able to dedicate.

Monster is the chief editor for the Britnet links so you'll have to be willing to take direction from her on which links should and should not be accepted, where to place certain links etc. If you can't take direction from a woman with purple hair, this isn't for you )

Finally, as with all Britnet positions, this is a non-paying and thankless job, except you get my thanks and the warm, fuzzy glow that you have helped someone find some information they need. )

BTW, I have just approved the 1700th link, and we have about 17 comments in total. Not a good ratio ;)

Regards
Nigel
