Good morning all

Still filling out the tax forms for the first time.

Another question We relocated from Japan last year to find work and to be closer to in-laws.

Can we claim a deduction based on the move to the USA or will the IRS think we are taking the Michael somewhat?

As ever, all opinions appreciated.

I looked into that when we moved to Ohio from Georgia a couple of years ago. From what I gathered, you can only claim a tax deduction for moving expenses if the move is for the purposes of work (if you have a new job, or a job relocation) not if its a family move.
