So there's been alot of aggro about Daniel Craig being the new Bond. The argument being that he isn't dashing, black-haired or cool enough. Tish poo I say. So I ask, out of 10 (1 being "Noel Edmonds" and 0 being "phwoar") what would you give this-:

I think he'll win over the ladies soon enough.
Let's face it - the man was picked because he was cheap, in comparison to Pierce Brosnan.

Craig already turned off the NRA folks when he went on about how scary guns are and how much he hates them - they were fuming for weeks.
Kind of pale and hairless...
Could we pin back his ears? Big ear lobes are sexy, those ears look a bit Spockish to me. (Gives salute that Spock does but don't know name of it.)
Give me Sean Connery any day of the week.. but then that's probably my age. wink

I'm not sure today's super-villains would be scared of a man armed with a colostomy bag and a pack of Jammy Dodgers.

Instead, they will be up against someone who looks like a villain himself. Might as well have put Sean Bean or Robert Carlyle in as Bond.

I am still at a loss as to why they didn't choose Clive Owen or why he didn't do it if asked. He would have been perfect...for the actors that are around at the moment.
From what I hear Clive Owen thought that playing Bond would be acting suicide. He does have a point I suppose. Still, Brosnan in The Matador is better than he's ever been.

IMHO I don't think Clive owen has what it takes to be Bond. He is actually one of my favourite actors, but i just don't think he'd suit the Bond mold.

I actually like Daniel Craig...have done since "Our Friends In The North" aired on telly back home. I'm sure he will do Bond justice.

I would still like to see Robbie Williams given a crack at it....hilarious!!!!!

I agree. Clive Owen is an excellent actor and personally I think the Bond movies have run their course.

We saw Inside Man yesterday. Excellent movie with Clive Owen and several other good actors. Very clever plot.

So your rating would be that Daniel is no 'junk Bond' then?

Not at all!

The Bond persona created by Ian Fleming was a rather unlikable character...a bit dastardly. Craig's portrayal of him will probably be nearer to what Fleming intended.

We have been somewhat spoiled by the likes of Connery, Moore et al.

I thought Clive Owen turned it down. Always liked him since he was in some made for TV thing called The Chancer.

As for Daniel Craig, I remember him in something we rented called "The Mother" where he was a builder shagging both the mother and the daughter at the same time. So he's a bit darstardly in my book.

He's not bad. And I'll not judge properly until I've seen him in his new film. As for the other Bonds, the only one I have ever rated was Sean Connery.
