Today see's the 35th Birthday of the Mr Men. I used to watch it and loved it as a kid. If you ask me it is still far better than the Power Rangers and other junk they have on tv these days.

Believe it or not they actually have a website

Happy Birthday Mr Men! ;)
I loved them too - altho I kept asking my mum why Captain Mainwaring was talking!
Very good point! I never realised the bloke who started it all Roger Hargreaves died at 58 or something like that.

If you ask me kids cartoons these days are not as good as the ones we used to watch. ;)
I had a t shirt of the "real mr men" very rude it was but funny
I liked both The Mr Men and Bod which were child-tastic, in a short-programme-after-the-lunchtime-news-type-way.....
Wow.. I have to admit to not having the Mr Men around in my own childhood, but my kids loved them all. grin
old enough to have loved the books but never watched the programmes. Mr Messy was my favourite (and my role model).
Loved the books, loved the show.

Sister Rude was also very into the Little Misses or whatever the chick versions were called.
Don't know the show but we found the books on a trip there in 1980, the girls, 8, 6 and 3, found them in a bookstore and loved them. We came back with all that we could find and left a standing order for more with one of my cousins.
I have 8 of those little books that my Mum sent over. My kids love em too. You have to keep collecting them because when they're stacked together it reads "Mr Men" on the spines! Well I think that's what it reads, I don't have enough yet.
??? ???
This'll bring back a few memories.

I liked The Mr. Men and Bod too. Didnt they used to be on at 1:30PM after the the news? I used to like Mr. Bump with his bandages.... and I used to like the incidental music which every character in Bod had. 8)
I remember Pauline Collins and John Alderton did the narration for the little misses but I dont think I enjoyed it as much as The Mr. Men with Arthur Lowe.

I've got a letter from Roger Hargreaves tha thanks me for some suggestions for Mr Men that I sent him in a letter when I was about 6 years old. I don't actually remember any of the suggestions but I'm sure his estate must owe me a few quid.
