By AMIR SHAH, Associated Press Writer 4 minutes ago
KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan man who had faced the death penalty for converting from Islam to Christianity has been released from prison after the case was dropped, the justice minister said Tuesday.
Well now Christians must have a idea how it must have felt to be burned at the stake for being a *witch *
what goes round comes around , seriously though nobody should be punished for there beliefs

Poor guy - he's screwed either way. Even tho' the government has decided to let him go, some religious nut will "take care" of him themselves.
Yeah, I thought that too when they were saying they didn't know where he'd gone since release.
I'd probably go hide too.
I could be wrong here but didn't America remove the Taliban and all they stood for?

yes we did and the country took a law that said * religiuos freedom *
but of course the church ( islam ) is NOT going to release its hold on the common poeple .
Much like the christian church still has * power * in many democratic countries in the west .
They have a long, long, way to go before they'll have killed as many Christians as have been killed by other Christians !

You got that right , one thing those two religions have in common they kill others and sometimes kill each other , In the name of god , allah (whatever ) of course .
I did hear that if they put this guy to death European troops said they would pull out.
So much for changing views. I think its going to take a many a year to do that when they say the west does not show them tolerance in western countries and they put some guy to death because of what he believes etc etc.
Tolerance, respect is a two way street I thought lol
It's worth remembering that we are only displaced from the same sort of thing by less than 300 years. I never could understand people, back then, who had such strong religious beliefs that they would willingly die for them. Now I see it in the Islamic world. Read European history through the middle ages, into the 17th century to understand the Islamic world at the present time.
