Are there any public figures that you think are brazen liars or complete idiots? People who's every action, comment or behavior has you thinking they're so full of it? Are there people who every time you see them you just think what a collossal wanker they are? Personally i could write all night, but I'll limit it to three.

My number one liar is Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Apart from blatantly lying about everything he does, he smirks like a twat when he does it. His behavior to committee with regards the flagrant trampling of the FISA laws and rules was especially bad - he basically admitted to lying, then argued that the admin could do what they liked anyway. I just saw him on tv and he he was grinning again. I have no idea what he was saying. But I knew he was lying.

Another person who annoys the crap out of me is Oprah Winfrey. I see her and I just think she's so phoney. And it's not about how she spends money. I know some think she should personally take care of half of Africa. I don't care if she spends it on shooting orphans out of cannons. But when I do see her show - which my wife likes to see now and again - all I see is a phoney saying "me, me, me - it's all about me!" She is forever gushing over people in such an obviously false way that I can't understand how she became so succesful. Anyone who is famous is told that they are her absolute favorite at what they do - often whilst sitting next to someone else she just said it to. She even managed to make that whole James Frey book nonsense all about her. And she does something that even I, someone without kids - thinks is retarded - when guests talk about raising their kids she sincerely remarks on how she raises her dogs! Unless your kids shit in the yard and get locked in a cgae when they piss you off I find the comparison a tad off. But most hilariously was the last show I caught of hers when she off-handedly referred to herself as a journalist. Bollocks - she's Geraldo and Jerry Springer for housewives and nothing more.

My third option is Katie Couric. For some reason various people on the Right spend hours explaining why Couric is a biased liberal who is lying to America. Considering she isn't a journalist but rather on a the TV equivalent of Hello magazine I find that rather silly. And it misses the point that she's just shit at her job. She appears to know absolutely nothing about anything. I see her as a liar in the sense that every morning she pretends to be a television anchor, when really she isn't good enough to do the quirky segment on my local news. The fact the she allegedly was begged to stay at NBC for $60 million or whatever simply proves that people with alot of money are incredibly dumb. And to think she may be the new CBS news anchor at 6pm - and Americans wonder why everybody says their news is a joke.
Some good picks there.

I used to think Donald Rumsfeld was a liar but now I have formed the conclusion that he's either not very bright or losing his marbles, so I make allowances for 'Gramps'. Of course, putting him in charge of the Pentagon is not a smart move - a bit like letting doddering grandad keep driving, I suppose.

Bill O'Reilly is obviously a brazen liar and a complete idiot, although probably not so much the latter as he makes a fortune out of it.

I automatically assume that anyone quoted or appearing on tv with ® after their name is a liar and as well as some of those appearing with (D) after their name.

My father in law says that ® stands for retarded, whilst (D) stands for demented.

Yes that crazy photographer Andrew Wheeler.
He claims to have a wonderful life taking photo's of bee's stuck to petals and racing bikes etc . . . .when really I saw him on Tuesday in his Passion Wagon driving up the I.280
Its all bullshit
See here . . .

Bullcrap
Condoleeza Rice, because she's female and she should know better.

Dick Cheney, because he's Dick Cheney and still allowed to use firearms.

Ahnold, cos he's obviously lost the plot and occasionally he actually looks like he's lost the plot, if you can't pay off the camera men don't let them take piccies.

Rummie cos he's a dill hole and he's killing our youth.

The Pope, cos he has no right to tell people how to do something he doesn't do, ie sex.

Everyone in every state that wants to ban abortion, and everyone in Kansas who belongs to these weird God bothering extremist groups.

Michael Jackson, no one that weird should be allowed to reproduce let alone look after kids.

My neighbour who isn't racist but tells me when i complain about him leaving his dog outside in all weathers to bark out of frustration and lonliness that I should go back to England.

Everyone who works for faux news, how can they hold their heads up in public.

and last but not least Ron Gonzales (mayor of San Jose) who divorced his wife, ran off with his secretary and then diddled San Jose out of several million by doing a dodgy deal with the recycling company that he didn't feel he needed to notify voters of.

Bill Frist. What a phony. Bill O'Liely and his mini-me Sean Hannity. Dick Cheney (goes without saying). Karl Rove...I can't even bear to watch his BS. Oh, and Delays a weasal too,....and that televangalist Rod Parsley who lives just up the road, but is nationally famous.

Bush is not nearly as bad as his toadies.

Bill Frist for diagnosing Terry Schiavo on videotape. Doctor my arse. And for that stunt he pulled right after Katrina "I'm here in the capacity of a Dr, not a politician".

Slack jawed barsted. Has nobody ever told him he'll catch flies if he keeps his gob open all the time? Or is it because he has only just given up the chew?

I have just googled pictures of him and tried to find one where his stupid gob is shut.

I don't like Katie Couric either.

Tom Delay looks like a smirky Billy Bunter all grown up.
What about the inverse then - are there public figures that you trust for no discernable reason? Or people that whatever they do or say makes you think how nice they are?

Living in NY state I have to say we are extraordinarily fortunate to have Elliot Spitzer as our Attorney General. The man just exudes integrity. I do hope that when he inevitably wins the governor's race he isn't polluted by politics too much.

Another guy is Stephen Fry - I find almost everything he does to be fantastic. He'd always make one of those "who-would-you-want-at-a-dinner-party lists.

Probably the most honest person I can think of is Stuart Pearce. If he said he was going to do something I'd have absolutely no doubt he was going to try harder than most to do it. If he started a bank, I'd put my money in it. If I came home to find him and my wife in the shower and he said it isn't what it looks like, I'd believe him. God bless you mate.
I thought you were on about the government, both the US version and the UK version.
I like Tim Russett purely because he appears to be honest and unbiased. Very nice voice, not much to look at and geniunely seems interested with just a hint of excitement in his subject.

Everyone I see on MSNBC is none of the above.

I also really liked Ari Fleischer and do not like Scott McClellan. The whole reason for this is not the message but the messenger.

For the same reason I liked Colin Powell but not Condi Rice. Condi Rice appears to believe in what she's saying whereas Powell appeared to look like "Hey, I'm a nice guy but I signed up for this job and have to see it through, so this is what I'm saying, but my conscience tells me I shouldn't be" Rice seems to be saying "I'm Bushes Biatch"

I agree with that...

I thought Colin Powell was ok until he stood up and "confirmed" the existance of WMD in Iraq. Whether he truly believed that statement, he was a lamb going to the slaughter with that one. I wish he'd had more strength to stand against the invasion, along with Robin Cook and all the countries who did not side with Bush & Blair.
Tony Blair, a liar for promising to resolve NHS problems and asylum. He is a crook, Bush’s poodle!
Bush for saying that he had "Intelligence" on Iraq and knew they had WMD
The CIA, I would be ashamed of saying that I work for this place.
Condi Rice
Bill First - what a bigot!
Britney Spears
Ashley Simpson- for lip singing!
President of Brazil - Lula promised many things and didn't accomplish one of them.

Rumsfeld- or should I say Dumbsfeld

In Brazil there was this photo of Bush, Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney and their heads had a shape of ammunition. It was opened in half and it said - Empty war heads! I just thought it was hilarious.

Jacques Chirac for walking out of a meeting because a fellow country member spoke in English at the E.U. meeting, the language of business! I am appalled because both of my grandparents fought in the WWII and my family paid a heavy price for the sake of his country and that is how he see's the English culture, who need their cheap wine and smelly cheese anyway?

The pope, he is against abortion, contraceptives, he should go to South American countries and help take care of the children in need, many poor women have kids there and they end up living in the streets.

People I have confidence without knowing them

David Cameron, he seems to be a nice guy, hopefully he will get the country on the right page again and get our boys out of Iraq a.s.a.p.

Margaret Thatcher- She is a hell of a lady

Steve Harris from Iron Maiden- He chose music instead of being a footballer and he seems to be all right.

All the nurses working at the NHS, and the cops working on towns were drinking hours have been extended; they seriously need to revise this!

Teachers, we are underpaid and overworked!
