This is not just a problem for the US. All troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are faced with these almost undetectable munitions.

Doesn't ecourage recruitment into the Army or Marines.

It's nutty, by the time they get the answer to one generation of IEDs there will be multiple mutations o Oops, we're back to evolution, survival of the fittest, in this case, the quickest to adapt sad
My brother in law is out there with the US Navy in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team defusing these things.
It's a huge mess. I suppose there is one positive side in Iraq. Now the Iraqis have turned against each other there may be less coalition casualties.

The future for Iraq looks totally bleak and all the US can do is to stand by and hope it doesn't ( if it already hasn't) turn into a bloody civil war like Yugoslavia.
