Did anyone else stumble by Arsenal v Real Madrid last night on ESPN2 ?
Came as a big surprise to me, I was browsing for something to watch in bed and stumbled across it. And it was an enjoyable game too... although rather hard to cheer the 'English' guy on!
It seems like they will be showing more next week. I get it via Direct TV.
They showed the game at that time because of the world baseball classic coverage. I was going to watch it but it was a bore draw so never bothered.
I just thought I'd edit to point out that it's not the UEFA Cup but the Champion's League, or as I call it every now and then the european cup!! roll
Not that I mean to split hairs about it or anything wink
Ah ok... I just remember seeing the UEFA logo floating past every so often.... being a cricket guy I don't understand all this stuff.... but I did enjoy the first european footie I have seen in 4 years.
It was a very good game despite the score though... I guess the commentators thought it was the best 0-0 in a very long time. Two off the woodwork, great saves, good attacks... quite a treat for a wednesday night ) and a surprise that it should be on US tv at all, not even pay per view!
I get it on a Spanish-language feed here as well.
/utterly wonderful stuff
//chanel 9!
We just started to get the ESPN Deportes which carries The Champions League and I watch it, and it's funny to listen to the spanish for a while but I get fed up with not understanding the 'sminkey pinkey Chris Waddle' stuff ???
You caught ESPN2 on their off-week. They usually show 2 games live every day there's CL play (Tue & Wed). Setanta had to carry most of it this time round because of the other thing they showed. And I'm talking about plain vanilla ESPN2, not some special Hispanic version or anything. Of course you'd miss it if you work 9-5 as they are on 2.30pm eastern time. That's where TiVo kicks in. What with Setanta, ESPN2 and FSC I almost never miss a match in CL, UEFA Cup, EPL...!
Thanks East17.. that explains then why they said pacific rim were having a second match but 'we' were getting the baseball. I will check my listings for Setanta and FSC just in case they are there.... channels come and go when you are not looking!
And yes this is English speaking ESPN... English and Irish commentators by the accents )
Hi guys....
could anyone point me to a web site which listes tv scedules for the rest of the championship... I have googled and all I get is ESPN web sites with everything but schedules.... or maybe they are only showing the tennis at the moment
Thanks
