"Senate Panel Rejects Proposal to Probe Eavesdropping

March 7 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee rejected a proposal to investigate the Bush administration's program of conducting electronic eavesdropping without warrants, while agreeing to create new congressional panels to increase oversight."

Someone needs to explain how on earth with clear violations to the law that nothing is even going to be investigated. Disgusting. Frist threatened to completely change the Senate Intell Committee and the response to such a horrible threat is to let this go. We've had 4 weeks of Congress pretending to be pissed off about scary foreigners owning a port company, yet when something actually important needs taking care of everybody says to hell with the Constitution. I continue to be stunned at the utter apathy to brazen criminal behavior, be it this, torture, Gitmo or shonky deals.
Glad I live in a country that is not hated so much.

The future according to Mr Bush is that the USA will be at war for the forseable future. What a sad situation.
It would be asking too much for Senator Roberts to start digging around his friends. The last thing they need right now is an investigation.

If nothing else gets them, the Scooter Libby trial next year might well finish them off anyway.
The Repubs hold all the levers of govt.
Power corrupts, absolute power.....
