Whereabouts in Holland are you? We have relatives in Amsterdam and have encountered a large Brit/American population when visiting them, so I'm thinking you must not be there?

...btw, I have a dutch friend here in the USA who felt the same when she spent a summer there a while back ...no use to you, I know, but you are not the only one to feel that way..... me, I'd love to live there (for a while), but I guess the grass is always greener.....
