Over the last few days there's been a few american TV stars who have died......
I dont know if you like these actors but Don Knotts, Darren McGavin and now Dennis Weaver have all died in the last few days.

Its only from living here that I knew Don Knotts from Andy Griffiths, and from the american version of Man About The House (Three's Company) but I did know Dennis Weaver from McCloud which I did watch once or twice when I was a kid (my dad didn't like him  ) and from the Steven Spielberg film Duel ( my dad wanted the tanker to get him  )
Without a shadow of a doubt my favourite of that bunch has got to be Darren McGavin. I was a big fan of his TV series Kolchak: The Night Stalker, back a few years ago. It was that show which inspired Chris Carter to write the X Files, which McGavin also guest starred in. Ive never watched the film but he was also in the film which TNT loves called 'A Christmas Story'

I'm sure that dead pool fans out there are waiting for the next celeb to bite the dust...............

I didn't realise that Darren McGavin was the dad in A Christmas Story. He was really funny in that.

I really liked Dennis Weaver in McCloud and I am going to watch Duel again soon 'cos I remember really liking that movie!
Saw that Dennis Weaver died of cancer late last week. He was great in "Duel".

The first year I lived here, a lumber truck ran us off the road "Duel"-style, because we tried to under-take it.!
Kolchak es muerte sad
i loved Don knotts. if ever anyone could make me smile, no matter how bad I felt, he could. he was just so human and goofy.

Secret mayberry watcher regards
We came in the 60's and maybe it's an age thing, but I have to say they don't make shows that were so entertaining today. Our kids ( and us) used to enjoy those two shows " Gunsmoke" and "The Andy Griffith Show".
Most of today's sit-coms are so poorly scripted and the actors pathetic.

I agree and to celebrate this, I just cancelled my digital cable package at long last.
