So I finally applied for the citizenship and I have been called for the citizenship testing in April.
The letter states that I should bring certain documents, one of them being my passport that I entered the US with.
My question is do they retain my British passport or do I get it back?
Also how is the test? I printed out the hundred possible questions off the INS website that they may ask, so I suppose I just have to revise and I should be okay.

Yeah, its really easy. Most of the questions are just general knowledge anyway - like how many states are there and so forth.

My wife and I took citizenship years ago when we realised that we couldn't go home as we were already there. The INS officer testing us was a woman. She asked my wife one easy question and me half a dozen hard ones roll

My wife thought it a mild payback for the discrimination against women. lol
Well, I've been a U.S. Citizen for just over a year, and today I got notice for sodding jury duty. roll My in-laws have been citizens all their lives and never served.. (

You keep your British passport (as others have said). When we did ours neither of us had any questions that weren't in that list of 100 sample questions so it was very easy. Make sure you know the answers to those and you'll be fine

Never mind. Might be fun although I'd be surprised if they let some foreigner on the jury

Sooo, if all your paperwork is correct, but you answer a question incorrectly, do you fail? Has anyone ever failed for that? Personally, I'm rubbish when "put on the spot" in that way (I would be hopeless on a tv quiz show)
Some Irish bloke I know failed a couple of years ago and had to do the process again.
Apparently rather than saying "I don't know" to answers and INS giving alternative questions, he tried to answer and got them wrong so ultimately he failed.
I'm not sure how much he revised for the test though or how many questions he got wrong.

It's a sign, he was never destined to be part of a country which is oddly one of the very few that is concerned about its populous being abducted by aliens. How comes you never get French people concerned about that, or Swiss for that matter, why, for the love of God is it always Americans.

Now I am not saying that if there was a great big Alien flotilla nearby and they wanted some "samples" they couldn't help themselves to as many Americans as possible....
