I just did.
We don't usually get very much back but we also just figure it so we don't have to pay either. This years amount was deposited into our account on Friday morning and by Friday afternoon it was used to purchase 2 tickets to California for a week in April mrgreen A week in Marina Del Rey is just what the Doctor ordered, can't wait wink
sounds fun, ours will go towards a new roof. Exciting exciting.
Nice - hope you enjoy the trip.
My tax return is quite complicated this year and it will take me a few weekends to put it together. Not counting on a refund - I usually fiddle about with the deductions over the year so that the refund is a pittance or none at all.
Don't want to pry, but do you all normally see back? this year we're in the 4k bracket, just don't know how that sits with other returns.
I try to arrange it so that I owe them, bugger making them interest free loans. I try to take it almost up to the penalty level but not quite. It doesn't mean as much now but we started it during the wild inflation of the seventies.

This is how you're meant to do it, but I never seem to.
I spent my recently acquired 2004 tax refund on part of a downpayment on a new car.
I wont be getting any back this year as I havent paid any in.
I'm hoping I have enough tax free that I don't have to pay anything either.
Our 18 year old washing machine died on me last week so it was off to Sears for new one along with a new dryer though the old one (also 18 yrs) is still working but it could quit working anytime now.
Exciting, I know! mrgreen
Ours is covering flights for the four of us back to the UK in May, we haven't visited in over 2 years.
This year we know we will have a tax bill. We cashed in an IRA last year to help pay for the move to CA, the liability on that will be about $8000, we are trying to reduce that as much as possible by claiming for moving expenses and job search expenses, the 1/2 million dollar mortage I just took out should take care of next years liability smile
Oops, I wonder if I belong here ???
I have heard that the richer you are, the less tax you pay and here is wendl, paying no taxes and eastendboy with a half million dollar mortgage. I'm out of my league lol
Ours is in process we should get a few $100 back but not as much as previous years .
Our total rebate is $800, but it's no gift, it is after all an overpayment of taxes.
car repairs! car repairs! oh and a used G5 dual 1.8 mac if I can find one for $1,500. razz Anybody???
My husband has just spent ours on a used record player for $100 and a 450 LP record collection for $400. The latter via Craigslist from a guy in NH.
Somehow, the local paper, the Boston Globe, has got wind of this transaction and emailed this morning wanting to write an article for their magazine! I'll be able to tease him for months - wonder if they'll plug the 'eccentric brit' or the 'midlife crisis' angle lol lol
