I think we need a thread to tell each other what's been making our day brighter. I just watched the Room 101 episode with Stephen Fry again where he made the point we all focus on the negatives too often, so we should point out what makes us happy. What's been cheering you up, making you smile, and brightening your day?

My wife woke me up this morning with a cup of tea and an egg on toast. She hasn't woken up before me in years. It was a very nice surprise.

My neighbor took out my garbage can this morning. So I didn't have to go out in the crud.

The fact that 16 inches of snow in 3 days is being called a "blizzard" in NY City. For us around the Great Lakes that's what we call "a dusting."

The Olympics! And being able to watch it on CBC live too.

My hubby brightened my day. he took me to and from the docs as I was a bit nervous of going on my own. I was told by all and sundry to relax so he cooed like a mourning dove all the way home until I almost wet myself laughing. grin

Then he told me laughter is the best medicine, bloody geordies, don't ya just love 'em. mrgreen
I took my wife on a drive to Carmel By The Sea down highway 1 yesterday, it was a beautiful day and she thoroughly enjoyed it. I called my Mum and spoke to her as we were on the beach as I looked across to the 17th hole of the Pebble Beach golf course while they were playing the ATT tournament. That was a nice day.

Then I had to come home and start work and finished up at 330 this morning and was back in my office at 10...still, it was a nice drive !!

Did you see a wasp on a suzuki . . . he almost made it to Andrews, said the ride was awesome . . .whilst I had to work

I watched Coupling on BBCA yesterday afternoon and laughed myself silly!

  Me too......I just love smutty Brit humour

I got an extra valentines card for my wife so she can have one from the dog. Inside it says "you make my tail wag" and I got the dog's muddy paw and 'signed' it on his behalf. Since I got that idea, I've been smiling all day.
I'm having a nice cuppa whilst perusing flight details and destination options for a trip down under this summer.
And now planning a cricket trip to the UK at the end of April with my mate Ben. No wives, no kids, just crciket, beer, curry, English pubs and a big roast Sunday lunch. Makes me smile everytime i think about it.

You silly sausage!!

Why on earth didn't you give me a bell - I'd have loved to popped out for a moment to say hello - as you'd have had to have gone through Capitola to get down here (unless you took 101 and went over Mt Madonna...)

Andrew

Whats been cheering me up lately?

The fact that I have from tomorrow right through next Monday off work. No reason really, just have holidays to use up before I leave to go back to UK.

Going back to UK in 6 weeks. Something that wasn't in the plans for us until recently, but now it is happening, I am very excited. More so that my mum will be able to enjoy her grandkids for the first time, and my sister can actually be a hands on aunt (really that just means that I will take advantage of the babysitting that we've never had offered over here).

Me 'n Mr Snuggles are off to France for a few days 2 days after arriving in England KID FREE (first time ever without them - love em to death but can't wait to leave em for a lil break twisted ).

I get a real smile inside when I talk to my mum, and she is sooo excited about us coming, that she is stocking up on all kinds of bits from the boot sales for my kids, ie bikes, toys, etc. She wants them to feel at home immediately. Sure they will with nanna at their side. grin

Me n Mr Snuggs are going to see Martina McBride in concert tonight. Love her music, and she gives a great show, so I am looking forward to that a lot.

Loads more stuff, but sure you don't want to hear everything I am grateful for. Obvious stuff goes without saying - health, laughter, love, enough dosh (just about), etc etc.......

Nice thread!

Actually we drove right past the Capitola exit and I told my wife that you lived there. We drove down 680 and then hwy 17 which was actually quite picturesque. I didn't realise that Laguna Seca was so close. I am off to England for 2 weeks on the 1st March, so if any of my CA neighbors need anything (has to be small) let me know and we can meet up when I get back and I can complain about the English weather
