Since there's a "best of" thread - let's run the opposite.
What music do you have hidden that's utterly shameful and would rob you of all cool if it ever came out... but you love the song anyway?
I have to go with "Hollaback Girl" oops It's complete musical bubblegum, has practically no redeeming virtues and lyrics so banal that it's third grade Shakespeare.
But it's just too damn catchy and has cheerleaders.
Nice thread.
Number one on the list of shame is without doubt Chaka Demus and Pliers. Utterly dire, I think a girl bought it for me.
I think I've also got Street Machines Break Dance Party somewhere. Gonna have a look for it now.
the tune I can't help humming along to, although I don't own it, is
mmmBop by Hanson. roll
Can't help it just love to hear it - and it always makes me smile... grin

Found it.
A Brenda Cochrane album. She won Opportunity Knocks about ooh 15-20 years ago?
She chose such great sing-a-long songs for her album, great for doing housework to.
My Black Lace/Clive Dunn/The Tweets all kinds of silly Pontins/Butlins holiday camp dance stuff might raise an eyebrow too...
Hi-de-Hi!
Well let's see....
I have 4 Chris Isaak albums. My friend Jeff tells me that Isaak is for old ladies, but anyone who can be that cool in a David lynch movie isn't for old ladies. I have a thing for Dwight Yoakam too. I actually own a tape that has the awful Seventh Son of a Seventh Son by Iron Maiden on one side with Rick Astley on the other - top that. Whenever I hear Groove is in The Heart by Deelite the disco-donkey inside of me goes bananas. And my wife's offocial sado song is Sir Mix-a-Lot's Baby got Back.
One of the great things about marriage is that you wife/husband will like listening to things that are just hideuos. And then you'll learn to like it too even if every fiber of your body says that shouldn't. So, now I catch myself singing along to pish by the Dixie Chicks, Alan Jackson and Kenny friggin Chesney. And yeah, I have sung along to that walking penis that is Toby Keith (or Kobi Beef as my friends call him).
First Record I ever bought Kids from Fame! lol
First Record I ever bought: Kids from Fame!
Strange Magic: ELO

Welcome to my world. I think my OH is going through some kind of Texas Country Music crisis. When we first arrived here 17 years ago he would go out of his way NOT to listen to any country music and thats hard to do where we live. He complained of it all being "depressing suicide music" Then a few years ago it started creeping into our lives..I'd catch him watching CMT and then he started buying Alan Jackson CD's. It got worse when we bought a Truck, I think he thinks its mandatory to only listen to Country music when we are in the truck   He has recently moved on to George Strait and I can cope with some of his real "old country" songs (occasionally) but I'm hoping tjis is just a small blip and he'll come back to his senses soon :???:
Hahahahahaha! Cel, I'm with you on that! When Mike was travelling down south all that time he developed a real penchant for country music and even tuned the car radio to Connecticut Country. Used to drive me mad, but having listened to Boston's "More Than A Feeling" for the umpty-millionth time in one day on I95 (rock station) I finally saw the light and converted meself!!
We too have a stonking big twuck but I get to drive that nowadays.
Yee Haw regards.....
Debs x grin

If you have to listen to country try some Big and Rich, at least it is more rock than country. I can listen to them any time
Ive got a few skeletons in my closet!! oops
Ive got 'Come On Over' by Shania Twain, which when I was in the UK I was recommended by my wife for a song on there she wanted me to hear.
I was young I was in love what more can I say? oops shock
Ive actually got Elton John's greatest hits because I liked 'Your Song' oops
Ive got Simon & Garfunkels Greatest Hits.
The first record I bought was 'The Smurf Song' back in the day, but curiously I don't feel that embaressed? wink
I've just started cutting CDs of some of my LPs. In addition to my own records, I have those that I inherited from my wife. and those left behind by my kids. Amongst them is one that they all loved, and the girls still love.
"The sound of music" sad
I don't own, but still love hearing Rolf Harris singing Sun Arise and Roger Whittaker's Durham Town.
There are more but for now I'll keep them to myself ;)
I was a Showwaddywaddy fan for a several years. They've not really stood the test of time - but much better than my Dooley's album.
