Glad to have you on board, I'm sure we all miss berks, but at least when you do meet them in the US you can call them that and not get slapped ;) lol
Wlecome missingBerks, tell us all about yourself or selves then.
grin Love the name. I missed a berk once when he ducked. Welcome!
Many of my ancestors were Berks -) Welcome.
lol
Perhaps i should explain the nick. I'm from Berkshire, born and bred there. When I go back it's not the place I remember. Nor is England for that matter, but I still get a little homesick for it.
After 50+ years I guess I should be used to the berks jokes. Anyway, thank you all for your kind welcome.

Is this the best known poem about a Berkshire town. Are you hankering for the rural Berkshire of old like Mr Betjeman?

Welcome.
I grew up in Berks (Crowthorne/Bracknell) and was living round that way before I came out here 8 years ago. I had other family at Thatcham.
Hi missingBerks, welcome.
I guess Thomas Wolfe was correct, "You can't go home again".
I love that Betjeman poem,. I used to cycle out to Slough sometimes when I was young.
Welcome, you'll find some berks here too. mrgreen
I understood what you meant. I also meant that many of my ancesters really were from Berks. Both Grandparents on my dad's side were Reading born and raised. All their ancesters were raised there or nearby too.
yeah, I figured the nick out too, but it's nice to have a little fun with a fellow Brit! lol
