I have to say though it does seem a bit off in places. My wife's friend Zun Yu said the Chinese answer was news to her. But whatever.... smile

In some parts of Britain, you must not turn a soft boiled egg shell upside down in the egg cup, for the same reason, tipping a sailor out of his boat. In other parts, you must do it to tip a witch out of her coracle.

I do believe we used to open the egg on the pointy end to let the witch out.
I have no idea why a witch would be trapped in an egg but that's one of those things no one ever explains to you when your a kid.

We used to break them up to stop the witches using them for boats! :lol:

I'd forgotten all about that.

I remembered it because I got in trouble for tipping the sailor out and a short time later got in trouble because I didn't tip the witch out.
