DR WHO GOES TO U.S

TIME-traveller Doctor Who is arriving late in the US - a year after proving a hit in the rest of the world.

Cable network the Sci-Fi Channel has bought the first series of the revamped show starring Christopher Eccleston, right, and Billie Piper.

They also have an option for the next series, starring the new Doctor, David Tennant. The latest shows have proved a smash in Australia, Canada and New Zealand, and in the US the old Dr Who series are a cult.

The BBC said: "This will introduce the Doctor to a new generation of fans in the US". A Sci-Fi Channel spokesman said: "Dr Who is a classic."

We had the first series last year on CBC, the second starts this spring I think. On Boxing Day they showed The Christmas Invasion http//www.dwin.org/article.php?sid=187

Just finished watching them all on DVD.

Won't be able to wait until series two makes it onto the Sci-Fi channel, so I'll probably end up with that one on DVD too.
