Are there any British singles of 2005 you appreciated more as an expat than you might have done if you were still in the UK, or you feel you appreciate more than the average native-born in your adopted counrty? For me, I miss the "novelty" records -not all of them (I will never mourn the death of Orville -soon may it happen), but the stuff like my 2 nominations below. They're just so British.

Amarillo (Comic Relief)

JCB song

Any other nominations?

Anyone who's seen/heard my CD collection will know this stuff is so far from my regular fare it's untrue, but I love these! Didn't buy either, of course, but sent a donation to Comic Relief because I laughed so much that night....
Er... none of the above. That JCB song made me want to cut my ears off and I never heard the Armadillo song. I couldn't tell you a damn thing about the state of British pop music at the moment, apart from it probably sucks as much as it did in 1998.

then -with all due respect-... piss off

Monster - they were brilliant. I hadn't seen either. The Amarillo song made me laugh so much..... lol

That was a fun way to start my week (husband and daughter #1 have buggered off to Engand, daughter #2 has thrown up all night with a bug and I have a million errands to run......but I'll have that song in my head all day now mrgreen )

Thank you!

I see you don't get told to piss off...

/humph
//screw you guys I'm going home regards

Vindaloo was the only novelty record ever with a shred of decency. Even then it got on your tits after about four listens.

I've never heard of the armadillo song or the CBJ song.
