Well, Canadian. K-Mart has a box of chocolates with various cream fillings, which is made in Canada under licence to Hershey, which obviously owns the rights to the Cadbury name here, but had no influence in the recipe as this stuff tastes like real Cadbury's! All other Cadbury's stock I have seen in normal shops here has been made in PA.
We have a full range of Cadbury's chocolates here. It's considered a national brand. I'm not a big choccie eater but Brits I know here who are say it's not bad at all,  but still not quite the real thing.

I think it tastes differently to the stuff in the UK, but I oculd be wrong. MAybe I'm remembering it being better than it actually is. :???:
Yes it is different. Rolos here are ok but nowhere near as good. Too light and oversweet.
I used to work for an engineering company that did work for Hershey. I did the structural design for the building that makes Kit Kat. On a later job, i asked why the different taste of the chocolate. They told me that they had to add more emulsifiers here because the chocolate has to withstand higher ambient temperature.

I later found that some British places won't ship the real thing in the summer, for the same reason.
I was suckered into this one - saw some Cadbury's on local shelves and bought a couple of bars without reading the label (I know, how stupid is that then!!). Of course it was made by Hersheys in Canada - nothing at all like the real stuff. Perhaps the fillings dulled the taste of the actual chocolate, East17. The chocolate bars most definitely are not the same.
If you perform a search I actually posted some time ago, the real reason why Hershey's tastes the way it does...

Told ya E17

Drive 40 miles north to Ludington up US31
turn right on US10 for 6 miles.
Turn left back onto US31 for 20 miles towards Manistee.
Stay on 31 through town, turn left at Burger King.
2 miles up that road is a shop run by a Geordie called Happy Chappy's.
enough British stuff you can shake a preverbial stick at.

I bought 5 selection boxes for all in the family last week.

Most if not all Cadbury's chocolate sold in mainstream stores in the US is made in Pennsylvania and tastes like Hershey's Light. The point I was trying to make is that the Cadbury's stuff we bought was made in Canada and tastes MUCH BETTER than the crap they churn out in PA.

Yeah I know. I just need to find time to drive for 4 hours to go shopping when I am already racking up over a thousand miles a week driving to work.
