My lawyer said last year just before christmas that a bunch of green cards were approved for no apparent reason......Xmas spirit maybe???
It seems they may be doing the same this year........ I applied for my green card on September 15th of this year. It arrived in the mail yesterday. Just thought I'd pass it on.
I'm in shock really, from application to having it in my hand took just under 3 months!!!!!! I've never heard of it being this quick. Maybe they finally have their arses in gear?
was it through marriage or otherwise?
...and which processing center?
and how much did you pay ??
Are you sure it doesn't say "Carte Verde - Residente Permanente"?
Never heard of a Green Card getting approved that quickly... jammy beggar mrgreen
My green card also arrived within 3 months of my AOS application. Mine was done in Dallas, who have some fast-track pilot scheme going on, and didn't cost me any more money than the "normal" route.
Congrats on the quick processing! My 16yr old son is still waiting on his GC, 9 months after his AOS interview. He's stuck in the Black Hole known as "pending FBI name-check", from which there seems to be no escape in the foreseeable future!
it was employment based, done through work (I had to pay filing fees of approx $600, they paid for everything else).
The processing center will have been Vermont.
I've never heard of it so quick either, jammy indeed!!!!!
Can you tell me what you provided in validation of marriage? We obviously have marriage cert, but house in husband name etc in case green card etc may not be approved. We have interview on 2nd March and I'm a nervous wreck already!!
Do you have anything in joint names? boarding passes to show you took a flight together? holiday snaps? child? phone bill showing many international calls before you came here.....?
I do have holiday snaps and I hope to God I kept some of plane tickets. We have joint health insurance. Thank you for replying.
We have joint health insurance.
I reckon that's a good'un.
Are any of the bills for the house in your name? If not, is it possible to have one or two transferred? This may help and down the line may assist with building credit .
I used anything that showed we were inextricably linked.
Thank you Rob and Monster. Yes, I do have TV bill in my name and yes, gonna transfer some!! I'm gonna go through house from top to bottom to find annnnnything!! grin
I showed them some joint christmas cards that people had given us, and I think a card or two that we had sent eachother too (not those ones of course oops ). I think you'll be fine with what you've got. I've never heard of anyone in a legit marriage ever get turned down for their greencard.
Relax.... deep breaths, meditation, yoga, alcohol, drugs. These all help (or so I'm told). grin
