New to the board and looking to move somewhere with easy access to ski areas, thinking about Colorado but open to all suggestions.
Any board members have any favorite places or recommendations they would like to share?
Hi there! Welcome.
Where would you be moving from? Do you need to find employment? Are you British? What's your visa situation?
If skiing is the #1 consideration and employment no object, I'd suggest you take holidays in each of the contending areas first.
Moving from Sarasota, FL. Self-employed. British. L1 now with Green Card.

Northern Michigan
Do you want to leave the heat behind or have the best of both worlds?

Try a tent in Oregon
Vermont... Killington area
It's got to be Colorado.
The Boulder /Denver area is only a couple of hours away from 6-7 major ski resorts.
300+ days of sunshine a year. 90's in the summer and apart from the odd cold spell winters are not too bad. In the summer there's mountain biking Hiking fishing and all sorts of stuff to keep you busy outdoors.
What kind of employment are you looking for?
Tell you what, PM me if you want any information about relocating to CO. I'd be glad to help
North Dakota - plenty of snow there.

Don't think Killington will be on the list - lovely place but the coldest week I ever spent skiing. Large hills rather than mountains.
Everything points to CO at the moment. Would like to keep the sunshine, don't want to be completely in the back end of beyond, reasonably near a metro area - preferably one with a practical airport.
I don't want much do I? Anyone know of a ski resort with a beach? ;)
Buffalo Bloke, thanks for the offer - I'll PM you and rack your brains.

California. According to macziplock, anyway.......
For skiing I think Colorado is your best bet. The Denver-Boulder corridor is best if you want to ski and stay employed. Though there are better areas of Colorado, you're unlikely to find good employment there.
