Finally, the Christmas Pudding is steaming away, the tree is bought and inside acclimatising, most of the outside lights are up (I'd like to do a few more, but I got frostbite just choosing the tree, so manyana for that one.....). Unfortunately, acheiving all that was a form of procrastination helping me avoid the tax form that's due by Weds, so tomorrow is paperwork with lashings of tax forms (

How is your weekend shaping up?
Well the tree is up, all 7' of it, but no decorations on as yet. Hubby says oh throw a big bow on top and leave it as is. That's a man for you! wink

I'm ready for a long winter sleep! Did my annual shopathon with daughter and sister in law yesterday a couple of towns west of here. We went at 7a.m. and I arrived home at 1210am this morning.

Managed to drop a lot of mular at the British Pedlar (Morph thinking of you). Got my Christmas cake, crackers, a case of Flakes, cadburys stockings, turkish delight, daddies sauce, tins of biscuits, oh and twelve packages of sausages. They're made stateside, but are delicious.

Found two cd's of traditional holiday songs and other English songs, so had to buy them too.
Got chatting with the girl running the store, and she was telling us she is off to England in a few days for the holidays. I asked where abouts she was going, she replies London, but I'm from Ipswich. My daughter thought I'd lost it, I got so excited, that's the area I'm from, my family lives in the next town. So we had a lovely chat.

Then proceeded to spend the rest of the day shopping, and late dinner, before driving back.

Am worn out today, but have baked all day, and baked all day Thursday. Made 12 yule logs on Thursday. Americans can't get over getting a dessert with fresh cream in it, I get more requests every year.

Tomorrow, more baking, going out to lunch for son in law's birthday, then back to hopefully decorate the tree!
I'm inclined to do it hubby's way and throw a big bow on it. LOL 8)

Haven't even began to write out cards yet, oh well everyone will receive New Year's Wishes.

Drinking beer, playing Gran Turismo, sharing a bubble bath with the bird...

Same ol' same ol' really.

The usual Sunday at work.
Start at 5am.
But then at 10 I'm off to meet up with my mate from Halifax and we're off to see the Bronco's play the Ravens at Invesco field.
Should be an interesting day out!
Do most of you buy REAL trees or do you go for the more artificial ones? Any chance of people posting some of their decorated lights?

I'm all about bubble baths with the bird. Get some candles going, a bottle of plonk, some nice music...

Don't you ever do that with Mrs Goose? I can highly recommend it.

...UK Christmas cards are done.... still no tax form.... off to bed now.....

/procrastination rocks ...tomorrow
Tax form for next weekend?

I was at a conference from Thursday till Saturday. Came home to a lovely weekend w/hubby. Well, actually he works on Sunday, so I had a lovely Saturday and Sunday night. Well, I made him help me with the Christmas cards (UK addresses), and it wasn't pleasant for him at all! LOL

I've picked up the tree 2 times now, thanks to Simon. Its only a 3 footer, and no breakables. Cookies not yet done. Still have to make my "jam thumbprint cookies".

Neither of us like Christmas pudding, but John is making a fruit crumble tonight with some custard. yum!

It's due Thursday -it's the 990 for non-profit organizations.

I keep hoping last year's will miraculaously turn up so I have an example and don't have to work it all out for myself because I've never done it before and the guidelines appear to be in Afrikaans as interpreted by a martian
