Do you listen to music even though you know it is offensive/morally suspect? Can you seperate the music from the musician? If a musician is a complete idiot/slut/fool /arrogant nob does it put you off? I ask because I stumbled across this on a website -
Charlie and His Orchestra was a Nazi big band assembled by Hitler’s minister of propaganda Joseph Goebbels. You can hear some of it here-

It certainly has that sloganeering-as-song that some activist singers employ these days! The music itslef is fairly decent - but I just can't get past the reaso nfor the songs. My room mate in college was very very big into white-power punk and said he was fascinated by the attitude. He was a huge romper Stomper fan but more about being interested in the culture. He saw nothing wrong with listening to the music - he would mention Eminem/insert-random-hip-hop-artist-here/various Norwegian death metal artists/ Morrissey etc, and say that was pretty much the same thing. I listen to music by people I wouldn't let mow my lawn. I often like music by bands with political beliefs I find to be laughable - Godspeed You Black Emperor, Alec Empire, Art Brut or Merzbow to name a few. If I like the sound, or it interests me than I don't really care what the person was like.

Most of us probably do, there's enough of it. From countless drug reference songs, through Ice Cube's Cop Killer, The Macc Lads and Gangsta rap to Skrewdriver. There's always something someone is going to be offended by. Poor old M Manson gets a bad time but most of his stuff is pretty tame compared to what else is available.

I normally avoid any type of interview with musicians and singers because I couldn't give a toss what they have got to say. They should stick to playing and thats it. That includes the Geldoff's and Bono's as well.

Music can be offensive according to who is listening and wether they arer easily offended or not .

some music i dont like so i dont listen to it .
Rap what i heard ( althou i understand its not all like that )sung about killing cops and f** king chicks not my type of music so i dont listen .

To each his own .
But if you liked the music but found the musician offensive would you still listen?
