My mum sent me both of his books - they're absolutely hysterical in a dry kind of way. Especially the way he describes walking up to some guy and chopping his fingers off with a meat cleaver.
The film is great too, he's an utterly reprehensible bloke but I would so have a drink with him.

choppers a great bloke, when the film got released a couple of years ago Johnny vaugn had a conversation with him on Ch4s big breakfast show over the phone, was most amusing. The guys a complete fruitcake, in an endearing kind of way. Watched the movie on the strength of that interview. Loved it.
Not read any of his books yet, they'd always be missing from the local library along with the charles bukowski novels and that copy of catcher in the rye.
Theres another aussie movie called Two hands that i saw at the same time, had bryan brown in it as a criminal type, was actually really good too, despite his presence. worth a look.
