All good tips guys, keep 'em coming. She likes her veggies if that's of any help. As for Patak sauce, I really am that green when it comes to cooking, a curry sauce perhaps V?
Britain is known for Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. Buy an eye roast, It cuts into good looking slices, some roast potatoes and some frozen peas or green beans does it. You could build a trifle as an English dessert. I personally, don't like trifle but you can make it in advance and just drop some whipped cream on it at the last minute. A bottle of merlot and you're there. If you are doing it Olde English style, a cheese board and crackers or some nuts and raisins, with some port to finish up. They don't do that here but if you tell them that that is how Mummy and Daddy do it on the ancestral estate.......
One does what one can in these awfully tight times, fwah fwah fwah! Thanks for the tip Londonsquare )

/does Essex have ancestral estates?
//Ford Cortinas do not count

What about the alleyway down back of the local disco where the young 'uns go for a quick knee-trembler?

What do you have against Ford Cortinas? my last car in the UK was a Cortina GT. It was a bugger keeping the twin Webers tuned but it would go.

Toad in the Hole for us tonight!

We had turkey pie with a puff pastry top last night and bloomin' good it was too!

Don't want to see turkey again now until Easter.

Debs x smile
Ha! eggs, beans and chips for us tonight! a nice Sunday roast would hit the spot right now!

I used to have a Spitfire running with a TR6 engine using triple Webers... I phuqing hated setting that up... blew three diffs out until I realised using an 1100 diff wasn't the best idea. And my dad used to have a big old Cortina estate in the mid 70's... don't remember it going tho.

Back on topic - Luu_UK, make a list of what meals you want to cook and I will help you out. Trust me you can probably get away with a backpack full of Pataks and Irn-Bru through Customs.

Or just cheat and stop by some place like Chilli's or Applebees - the food is so not spectacular but the bird's parents will think you are an ace cook.

I find pataks sauces really tasty and very easy to cook with, you can pretty much
add whatever veggies you want, you can make it in a pan or casserole dish in the
oven [i prefer the oven method]. as vrb says you should get them through customs
easily enough and if you need any advice/help give us a shout!..
we have a few indian restaurants here but i enjoy making my own, they sell the
pataks at the local supermarket or you could try places like world market..
just shop around mate you may stumble across something when you least expect
it..
