I didn't even know there was such a thing as a Thanksgiving card, but this site has a gallery of the most disgusting they could find.

Which leads me to ask - do you give out cards for holidays? Do you like getting them? Not to sound like a grouch but I can't bear them normally. My mother in law will throw a fit if she doesn't get one (and a good one at that) but I hate the idea of blowing $3 on something as useless as a card.
I do Christmas and Birthday cards. Although, I have a sieve for a brain, and forget most birthdays.
I enjoy receiving Christmas cards and birthday cards. My hubby, and father see it as a waste of money. roll
Christmas and Birthday cards are the norm here too. I feel it gives an opportunity to show someone you care about (friends and family alike) that you're thinking about them. I also like receiving them (the same formula applies - I like to know someone is thinking about me).
I love sending cards, particularly now that I live away from home. I remember how lovely it was to receive an unexpected letter or card in the post and in todays world of electronic, instantaneous communication, I think (hope) that people who get cards from me have that same feeling. Usually restricted to b'days and Christmas, but also occasionally for special occasions - engagements, anniversaries etc.
I also love getting cards - I remember thinking I'd had a very successful 21st b'day when I recieved almost 150 b'day cards. I remember that but I can't remember what pressies I received (that could have been the pint of g&t that my aunt bought me mind.....)
I do Christmas and Birthday too. With the latter I tell the recipients they need to give me a weeks notice of the date, I know, it's sad, I have books and lose them, the file on the computer disappeared, the only thing I remember is a few telephone numbers and when I'm hungry eat.
I did get some absolutely beautiful cards about 15/20 years ago in a Japanese museum in Florida. They're all cut work and layers of paper. Scenes of misty mountains and blossoms.
Send them to someone, not on your nelly, far to good to give away. roll
I like sending cards to people abroad. Other than that I totally agree about spending money on stuff that's going to get thrown away. I'd prefer if I didn't get cards, but I'd gladly accept gifts )
Dont usually do cards and when i do its of the internet variety .
... not on your nelly...
   I haven't thought of that saying in years. Thanks for making me laugh this early in the morning. A good way to start my day.
Btw, me wonders where that saying came from???
Rhyming slang. Nelly > Nelly Duff > Puff > puff of breath.
Not on your last puff of breath.
