.......to stand in line for an XBox 360 today?
I was actually lucky to only have to wait 45 minutes in the freezing rain at BJs. I was #12 in line and most of the people in front of me had camped out all night shock
Anyone else bother? I must say I was impressed by how orderly the queue was - no-one really tried to push in front even though there were only 15 premium units in the store! Young American geeks can't be that bad..... wink
I thought about it but didn't bother. The distribution was quite patchy and like Vegas says, I'd be surprised if that was it for supplies this year, as some kids seem to be crying today. Seems more like a deliberate policy to get a lot of publicity, increase the "need" etc. and make them a "cabbage patch kid" type of Christmas hot-item.
I've got money set aside for a premium system and a bunch of games but if by some chance, Microshaft can't get them into stores quickly enough then I'll either buy another computer or maybe wait and see what the Sony Playstation 3 is like.
Still, well done to the folks that got one today, one way or another. They look like a lot of fun!
I agree VRB - and was only prepared to show up 45mins before store opening! But it was worth it to me to get a birthday present my kid really wanted and I was unsure I'd be able to get one before Dec. 15th otherwise.
There is premium up on Ebay for $1375 with minutes to go.
Good luck to y'all. I actually do a bit of work for the Xbox gang. I don't play the games but I think they are nice people and they find me a bit odd becuase I don't have a games console - they laugh about it - so they are alright in my eyes.

Or just wait a couple of weeks and they'll be back in the stores.
/not that much of a nerd
//could vacation in Europe with that much money

Yes.
I don't even play these games...
MWAHAHA!!!
:P
I only play like four games on my PS2... most of the stuff out there is terrible and linear and FPS games give me motion sickness.
Big fan of the GTA series, simply because there's so much to do and if you're like me and don't use a FAQ, you find all manner of fun things just jump out at you... everything from taxi driving to racing stunt planes and dirtbike racing.
/shooting people gets boring really really quick
//more to GTA than shooting people

You see, I don't understand this at all. Why wait in line for something that will be easily available in the next 3 months, its like seeing a blockbuster film the day it opens...why? I really do not see the point..
It's the Murrican Way. Instant Gratification and all that. Me Me Me, Now Now Now, I Deserve This.
/think of Verruca Salt or Violet Bott and you'll get the picture.
No I didn't - don't understand why you'd bother either. And I have no idea why people are blowing hundreds over the store price for one on ebay either. That's just demented.
Like, The One Who Likes Lower League Football, I'm waiting to see how the Playstation 3 is going to be. So until then I'll rent Xbox games.
Anyone played Conker Live and reloaded for the Xbox?
1) Would never pay full price for anything from Microsoft
2) Would never own a Microsoft gaming system
3) Would never buy a gaming system that looks like a paper shredder
4) Am very much a late adopter - shopping for PC stuff at NewEgg rather than getting it from BestBuy
