I'm looking for what was called beading in UK. It's a thin strip of wood, usually sold in 6 foot lengths. About a quarter of an inch thick and up to half an inch wide.
I'm looking to make up frames for my machine embroidery, so it has to be thin to go under the needle.
Just back from Port Arena and feeling very arty farty. Must move before it wears off.
Anyone know what they call this stuff over here? I explain and just get blank looks. And no, vinyl won't do.
Try "half-round", "quarter-round" or just "trim". Go to the lumber dept of your local hardware store and they should be able to help you.

half and quarter round are round, though -from your dimensions, Annie, it sounded like you wanted flat stuff? ???
Thank you and yes I do want flat.
Trim roll who'd have thunk it. I always thought that to be a bit rude. ??? shock
annie, hubby here is a woodworker and cabinet maker and, no doubt could tell me exactly what it is you're looking for. Unfortunately though he's already turned in for the night, and i won't see him until tomorrow afternoon, but I'll get on it as soon as he comes home and let you know.
I left him indoors a little message here last night, and he says what you're looking for is called "screen mold". Hope this helps. smile
Thanks Celticana. Hubby came home with some last night. Bit wide but thin so it leaves loads of room for Annie's attempts to get the staple gun to work. Looking forward to TG now, food and fun and free embroidery, and a warm toasty fire lol
...... and a warm toasty fire
Don't you mean the glorious sunshine outside, Annie?
It's sunny but to my mind a wee bit nippy. Toasty fire every evening.
Wussy regards lol
