Reminds me of this:

"Mrs. Irene Graham of Thorpe Avenue, Boscombe, delighted the audience with her reminiscence of the German prisoner of war who was sent each week to do her garden. He was repatriated at the end of 1945, she recalled. "He'd always seemed a nice friendly chap, but when the crocuses came up in the middle of our lawn in February 1946, they spelt out 'Heil Hitler.'" (Bournemouth Evening Echo)"

That was a great one LS. grin

Get yourself a Honda HRX 217HMA. No messing about with pull cords, really good.

Well I pretty much went with your recommendation in the end Moo and just bought a Honda HRX217HXA which is like the one you suggested but without the electric starter.

You are ahead of the curve Pilgrim~12" snow this weekend for us.

Bad luck. We got literally floods of rain but it all went away about a week ago and now the sun is making a welcome return.

Excellent, Honda makes great machines. Happy mowing.

Thanks. Got delivered Monday and I tried it out yesterday as I had the day off - much nicer than the last one (Poulan Pro POS from Sears).

Managed to stall it twice though - still learning the clutch system and the thing is way more powerful than the last one. If you ran it at full speed, it would be doing about 6 mph or more and pulling me along after it so I had to shunt the power back a bit.

Still, the results were pretty good for a winter cut - tidied up the lawn and it even cleans up very easily when I was finished. Thanks again for the recommendation Moo - when are you going to get one?

The good thing about apartment living is no garden work. Though I have been known to take care of some bush. 8)
