Every year one local radio station (102.5) drops its entire schedule and plays 24 hour christmas songs. It usually happens the Sunday or Monday after Thanksgiving.
This year they started yesterday. shock
Yep. There are two stations here in Columbus that began playing them a couple of weeks ago. I'm already sick of Christmas Carols.
P.S. How to annoy people lesson 1 Replace the word 'Thanksgiving' for 'Christmas' in christmas songs.
One station here started on October 1. What makes it worse is hubby insists on listening to it in the car.
Thank goodness I have yet to hear Christmas songs, but there are an unusual number of houses around here already displaying their Christmas decorations.
I think all the Christmas advertising and shop displays have started a lot earlier than normal too - you wouldn't think that Thanksgiving even existed - it's supposed to be the bigger 'holiday' in America.
by the way - don't you hate that turkey motif on all Thanksgiving stuff?
I only listen to sports on the radio so no danger of me being assaulted in this way.
Still, 'tis the season etc.
I work with automated radio station software and sadly, it is just way too easy to set them up to play non-stop Christmas music. We don't tend to get that problem with our station - it used to play non-stop, sad-bastard emo music until all the listeners started killing themselves and listnership dropped off badly wink
It started here November 4th. shock Thing is, they keep playing the same rotation over and over and over... enough to drive you mad!
