I like country ham when I can get it in this part of the country. When I was spending my time in N Carolina, I always had country ham and eggs for breakfast.
Hmm Thanks for all your help, I'm still none the wiser for printing out a British/Danish/Irish Bacon Recipe for my local Butcher ???

Narhh theres GOTTA be a recipe out there somewhere...someone has one...I just know it

The easiest way is to buy it online. There are several suppliers.
I don't know if there are any near you, but there are a number of Brit food shops in FL.

I have a suggestion - google around for a British butcher. Even your local British butcher has email these days so send them an email explaining yourself.

That's exactly what I suggested.8)

Midge, you really need to stop expecting the readers on here to be able to produce a definitive answer to everything you ask. You've had loads of suggestions, if you feel the need for a deciding verdict from a real British butcher so why don't you get in touch with one?

I hope you succeed.

I've got used to American bacon and wouldn't be surprised if I find British bacon bland next time I try it.

Bacon was one of the things I was really looking forward to having on my trip to UK in 2003. However, its like a lot of things, never as good as you remember. Sadly, I found it way too salty and after a couple of tastings, gave up. Chocolate was the same, not as good as I remember. This is probably because over here, I have given up on chocolate completely and  age

Yea may want to have a word with these people maybe they can tell you how its all done or pass you onto someone that can help

Yep, well I did that and my response was

Do you think I would do something as stupid as that? Boy you are wrong. I have spent over $100,000 to develop the product in America, and you think I am going to give that away.

Did you look it up in the Wikipedia yet Midge?

Not a nice response from the master butcher - just what America needs - another miserable Brit.
Here you go Midge:-

Click on that. This guy is looking for a British partner for his company. If you got the job, I bet he'd give you all the British bacon you could eat.
