Am cooking a cottage pie and listening to an old police album. Particularly my favorite song.
Every breath you take.

My question is, is it  a stalker song or a love song?

Back to the kitchen. Love Bose at full blast. Every mistake revealed in it's full glory. Like having them in the kitchen with you. lol

/it's a totally obsessive song

I thought it was pretty common knowledge that this was a "stalker" song that he wrote after his first marriage ended.

The funny thing is when people use it as their wedding song.......

Really like that song.

I don't see the "stalker" part. To me, its a lover totally obsessed with his lost love.
Just can't get her out of his mind.

At the time, it reminded me of the two weeks or so of hell I went thru when my first industrial strength romance went south.

Stalker without a doubt. The ending just repeats "I'll be watching you" over and over, which is hardly nice. Reminds me of a Dane Cook - he says to go up to a woman in a bar and ask "so, are you going to be walking to your car by yourself later?....I'll be over here just watching you."

Not really a surprise since he also wrote a song about getting all hot and bothered about schoolgirls - Don't Stand So Close To Me - apparently about his real brief stint as a teacher.
