I think the US version is pretty good, and it is becoming as good as it matures.
I liked the part where they moved Dwights desk into the toilet. Hilarious!

I havent watched a whole lot of The Office (both UK and US versions)
The US version is okay but I like the domestic appeal of the original, not that the american product is inferior I just identify with the UK version a little more.
Anyone seen Extras on HBO yet?

Yeah I saw about ten minutes of an Extras episode with Ben Stiller in it - I think it was the first one. It really was excellent - Stiller played himself but as an egostitical prick.

I'm really liking The (US) Office too. At first I spent too long comparing it with the UK one. Now I don't do that at all and I think it's great in it's own right.
If I had to pick though, I still like the UK one better.

No way, man. The best thing on American tv right now has to be Squidbillies.

I think the U.S version is very good. Apparent Gervais and Merchant were allowed a lot of hands-on direct control. I think Scranton is an excellent substitute for Slough.

I think I prefer Merchant to Gervais. I'm amazed that it was made so well. I do notice a lot of off-colour and "mean" humour which isn't present in a lot of US comedy so that's probably why I like it.

The American version is total crap.
There, I've said it. ;)
