The other white meat. I've made a turkey chili, obviously a beef one, but came across a recipe asking for pork and beef. I thought this to be a wee bit ove the top and then looked for just pork but couldn't find one. So I'm wondering if anyone has made a pork chili.? i have a prok loin in the freezer and can't think what to cook with it. Any ideas?
I have made chilli with hamburger meat and ground pork, it was very good, needed it for a large crowd so made a huge batch.
Someone sent me this recipe for "pulled pork" it is wonderful and an average pork loin goes far if you use it on buns. I highly recommend it.

Crock Pot BBQ Pulled Pork
>
3 pounds pork loin roast
1 cup water
1 18 oz. bottle BBQ Sauce (KC Masterpiece Original)
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 TB. Worcestershire sauce
1-2 tsp. hot sauce (I think I put in 1 tsp.)
Salt and pepper
>
Place roast and water in crock pot and cook on high for 7 hours
Remove roast and shred with two forks.
Return roast to rinsed crock pot and add other ingredients.
Cook on low for 1 hour. (If you leave it in the crock pot for
longer than one hour, you may need to add more sauce).

I so want to be a smart ass, but I won't. I happen to love prok myself.

Annie an authentic mexican recipe that uses Pork and is absolutley superb is Chilli Verde or Green Chilli.
This is the recipe I use

6 Jalepino Peppers, roasted, peeled and seeded.
2 Bell peppers, roasted, peeled and seeded.
1 pound of tomatillos (They look like little green tomatoes.)
2 tomatoes. 3 if you like tomatoes. I like tomatoes...
Approx 3/4 lb pork. I've tried various types of sausage and pork tenderloin, but have yet to find the correct pork to get the smokey flavor I'm looking for. You can do this with chicken or beef too, but pork's traditional.
Chicken or other broth. I usually use 2 quarts.
1 onion, chopped.
2 to 3 cloves of garlic, crushed.
1 tsp cumin (give or take...)
Juice of 1 lime, fresh squeezed. Don't be getting that plastic lime...
2 tbsp flour
Optionally a shot of cooking sherry
In a big pot...
Brown the pork in a little oil. That would be a great time to cut your tomatillos and tomatoes into quarters. Once the pork is brown, add the onion and cook until it's translucent. Add the flour and cook for a couple of minutes. You're basically making a roux which will make for a nice thick chilli later on.

Add the garlic, chicken broth, cumin, tomatoes, peppers and lime juice. If you have cooking sherry, add a shot of that, too. Bring to a boil then reduce to a slow simmer and cook for a couple of hours. If you used pork tenderloin or pork chops, the pork should be falling apart. You should end up with a pot of tangy, hot and tasty green chilli.

Serve with some tortillas and rice. If you dont use it all then reheat later and pour over bean burritos Yummmmmmmmm..........
Let me know if you try it
