On the Canadian Immigration Council website there's that list of jobs that cic will allow you to have regarding work experience. My question is, supposing you worked for yourself? does doing so still count and if so what evidence would one need to show you have relevent years of experience in a field they require us to work in?.
I'm having to re educate myself at university and so was thinking of also working for myself in the IT industry. Something else that just sprang to mind, i have 10+ years of work experience in IT but suppose i was to take a job that wasn't in the list? would my previous experience still count? would the job i'd be doing now be looked upon as not in the list so i'd be turned down?
Self Employment will count but you would have to document it differently. You can't just write your own reference letter. Perhaps a letter from one or more of your clients or copies of contracts etc. would do.
