Fascist.
I hadn't had a good cup of coffee in so long I even thought the crappy Nabob sachet coffee I had in my hotel room in Quebec city was good. oops And I drink a good 5 cups of tea a day. 8)
Sadly my wife has been urged by the doctor to avoid caffiene like the plague. Bah - I had her hooked on tea. Still, we both enjoy our Green and Blacks hot chocolate.
I had starbucks coffee in UK. Was bad there, why would it be any better over here? I'm told too much coffee affects the blood pressure and makes one hot under the collar, so I only drink it once in a while (usually saturday morning) I make it how I like it, i'm less likely to be dissapointed that way wink
Now, is it 'bad' as in actually tastes bad, or 'bad' in a kind of anti-establishment, anti-corporation 'must be bad because its produced by capitalist fascists/fcuk the establishment' kind of way?
It's too metallic and tastes like Nescafe instant. But - and this is the big but, it tastes the same no matter where you buy it. It's this bland homogenised no real flavour coffee a lot of Murrikans go for. They might sell millions of cups a day but it still tastes like poo. McDonalds sell millions a day too but nobody ever says "wow, this is the best burger I have evar tasted".
Plus all that frappucino soy-milk makes your weiner shrink and makes you annoying. How many gits are there in the nearest Starbucks with annoying facial hair sponging bandwidth right now? All of those people are annoying and have small weiners.
I think you've been lacing your coffee with some strange stuff, VRB if you think Starbucks tastes like Nescafe. You just invalidated any trust in your tastebuds.
I would buy the best Kona, if I drank a lot less of it than I do. As it is, it would cost too much.
I too drank coffee in France and never looked back.
I buy so called 'French Roast' (very, very dark) coffee beans from a coffee place at a market. I have it ground expresso fine. I just use a cone and filter and put in water from the kettle in slowly - being sure to wet it all first. And that's it really
And that's it really. I make lattes if I want by putting half a cup of milk in a bodum, heating it in the microwave for about a minute and then vigorously using the plunger on the milk to whisk it into a froth and then pour into half-full coffee.
I also mostly drink tea and coffee less often. I don't rate Starbuck either but I don't think it's quite as bad as Mr Rude is making out. Compared to getting quality beans and making your own, no, it doesn't compare but for a "fast food" style cup it's ok. I get a free cup every time I'm working early before the store opens because the Barnes & Noble coffee shop has Starbuck products and they brew a pot for the early troops each morning. It does the trick but I can only drink a small cup because after a while it starts tasting weird.
A fairly decent fast food coffee can be had at Tim Horton's - better than their donuts by far. Though for some reason you can only buy a small coffee if your in Canada because they don't offer them down here.

Tim Ho's iced cappuccino was far better than Starbucks
Anyone like Coffee Ice Cream? I have to say the Starbucks Ice Cream is pretty good, and Mocha Chocolate Almond flavour(any brand - not just starbucks) has to be the best ice cream ever.
