We're having a bonfire night at ours and inviting everyone we know. So far we have one Surrey girl (her nibs), a possible on a Yorkshire gent, two Kiwis and a whole mob of us yanks. Anyone near, or wanting to travel to,
here is welcome.
We'd be happy to put a few people up for the night if you feel inexplicably drawn to the wilds of southern Indiana.
Please PM me for address, directions and such.
How very excellent of you! I wish I could come, but it's just too far.
Yeah good luck mate, it'll be fine as long as you get proper sausages, bonfire, guy, some fireworks and have lots to drink.
Oooh oooh ....is 7 hours too far to go for a bonfire I wonder? I make some mean parkin......
Way too far for me too. here you can't do it. California rules. Sometimes a pain in the butt.
We're putting one together in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area too, instead of our monthly meetup for October. Nice that it's on a Saturday here. Wife's not too cool on burning an effigy of someone but she said "that's tradition I guess"...

Many of our friends have expressed interest in the Guy burning portion of the event. We get a lot of, "Are you really going to burn somebody in effigy?". Some seem a little shocked some seem a little too eager...

Very kind of you to say. We completely understand about the distance. While I think we throw a nice party I personally wouldn't travel more than an hour or two in a car to get to it.

Thanks. We're having trouble with the proper sausages, but everthing else will be on hand.

Don't be daft! 7 hours for a bonfire is much too far. Simply make the parkin and overnight them to us.
Or should that be   ? The language of the smiley is a subtle and nuanced thing.

I'm not sure if we're allowed to here either, but we're going to assume it's okay until someone with flashing lights asks us to stop. Considering the weeks of continuous fireworks we had to put up with around the 4th I'm thinking it will all work out.

You could play by Lewes, Sussex rules and burn the Pope. You might make it on CNN.
